Need a copy editor?

If you’ve created some copy or content, it’s usually a good idea to have somebody else at least look it over before you hit print, send, or post. And just as a different pair of eyes can more easily spot unprofessional-looking mistakes in spelling and punctuation — and anything that might confuse or unbalance an unbiased reader — a different, objective perspective can also come up with new ideas and concepts, pushing a piece of writing in a more effective direction. It’s rare for a first draft to be spot-on. Writing’s not an art. It’s a craft.

Aim for perfect.

Do you have copy or content that needs a check, review, or polish? A little refinement here and there to tighten it up, or alter its tone? Does some of its phrasing need a tweak or two to remove ambiguities and inconsistencies? Is it punchy enough? Clear enough? Compelling enough? Or perhaps it’s too pushy?

Most writing that reaches the public eye has been carefully (sometimes repeatedly) edited and redrafted for effect, and it’s generally accepted in the publishing industry that writers shouldn’t edit their own work. It’s far too easy to miss your own mistakes — and mistakes made in writing can be embarrassing… and in some cases even costly.

Let me check your words for you.

I’ve a keen eye for detail; an intolerance of mistakes, ambiguities, and inconsistencies that might confuse or unbalance a reader; a flexibility of style and approach to suit your voice and objectives; an excellent grasp of grammar; and the know-how that’s necessary to get the best from your words.

I’ll help you make sure your copy or content reads the way you want it to be read, says what you mean it to say, captures the voice and tone you’re aiming for, brings you profitable authority rather than costly embarrassment, and gets your right message out into the world.
